    Object Number: 419648  Size: SH
  1. Install the shift lever seal (2) onto the shift lever assembly (4).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the shift lever assembly (4) and secure it with the shift lever screw (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  5. If necessary, install the trim cover protector (1) to the lower trim cover (2).

  6. Object Number: 324810  Size: SH
  7. Install the upper trim cover (2) and secure by using the TORX® head screw (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  9. Install the lower trim cover (1) and secure by using 2 pan head tapping screws (2).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).

  11. Install the tilt lever assembly. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
  12. Install the steering wheel onto the column. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  13. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
