Auxiliary Blower Motor Replacement with E59

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor resistor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the lower auxiliary air distribution duct bolts and retainers.
  5. Remove the lower auxiliary air distribution duct.
  6. Important: The auxiliary blower motor must be removed with the blower motor housing.

  7. Remove the auxiliary blower motor housing screws.

  9. Lift the auxiliary blower motor housing and remove from the HVAC module assembly.

  10. Object Number: 812946  Size: SH
  11. Remove the auxiliary blower motor mounting screws.
  12. Remove the auxiliary blower motor from the blower motor housing.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 812946  Size: SH
  1. Install the auxiliary blower motor to the blower motor housing.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the auxiliary blower motor mounting screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

  5. Install the blower motor housing to the auxiliary HVAC module assembly.
  6. Align the rear tabs of the blower motor housing to the HVAC module.

  7. Install the auxiliary blower motor housing screws.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

  9. Install the lower auxiliary air distribution duct.
  10. Install the lower auxiliary air distribution retainers.
  11. Install the lower auxiliary air distribution ducts bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  13. Connect the auxiliary blower motor resistor electrical connector.
  14. Connect the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector.
  15. Install the left lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

Auxiliary Blower Motor Replacement without E59

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accessory panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the storage compartment. Refer to Rear Storage Compartment Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the auxiliary blower motor.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the auxiliary blower motor resistor.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the auxiliary air temperature actuator.

  6. Object Number: 691600  Size: SH
  7. Remove the auxiliary blower motor mounting screws.
  8. Remove the auxiliary blower motor from the blower motor housing.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 691600  Size: SH
  1. Install the auxiliary blower motor to the blower motor housing.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the auxiliary blower motor mounting screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the auxiliary air temperature actuator.
  6. Connect the electrical connector to the auxiliary blower motor resistor.
  7. Connect the electrical connector to the auxiliary blower motor .
  8. Install the storage compartment. Refer to Rear Storage Compartment Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Install the accessory panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
