Subject:Intermittent Erratic IPC Sweep with Possible ABS or SIR Lamp On

Models:.

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

A customer may comment that intermittently all IPC gauges sweep erratically (not as in WOW test) and the charge, MIL, ABS and SIR indicators come on. Typically no DTCs are set. This condition occurs briefly and there is no pattern as to when (hot, cold, fast, slow).

Recommendation/Instructions:

A possible cause for this condition is an internal malfunction of the PassKey3 module. Condition could be duplicated by loosely wiggling the IGN feed fuse to the PK3. To correct this condition verify all PK3 wires and connectors are okay. Replace PK3 module at steering column as needed. Retest vehicle.

.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
