Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 313611  Size: LH
  4. Remove the liftgate latch retaining bolts.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the liftgate latch.
  6. Using a small flat-bladed tool remove the lock cylinder rod from the liftgate latch.
  7. Release the latch cable retainer and remove latch cable from liftgate latch.
  8. Remove the liftgate latch from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the liftgate latch to the liftgate
  2. Press the lock cylinder rod into the liftgate latch.
  3. Install the latch cable to the liftgate latch and engage latch cable retainer.
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the liftgate latch.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the liftgate latch retainer bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  9. Close the liftgate.
