Cause

Action

The power sliding door does not power unlatch/open when the open/close switch is pressed. The door may power open if the door is manually unlatched.

The following conditions may prevent the unlatch actuator from activating:

    • Circuit 750 and/or circuit 2910 is open.
    • The unlatch actuator is defective.

The following conditions may prevent the unlatch actuator and rod from unlatching or opening the door:

    • The sliding door is locked.
    • The front rod adjustment is too long.
    • The unlatch actuator is defective.
  1. Perform the Diagnostic Mode 3. Refer to Diagnostic Modes in Power Sliding Door (PSD) Diagnostic Information . Perform the indicated corrective action.
  2. Complete one of the following actions:
  3. • Unlock the door.
    • Adjust the front rod. Refer to Sliding Door Lock Rod Adjustment .
    • Perform the Diagnostic Mode 3. Refer to Diagnostic Modes in Power Sliding Door (PSD) Diagnostic Information . Perform the indicated corrective action.

The following conditions exist:

    • The PSD unlatches but does not power open when you press the open/close switch.
    • The PSD does not power open if you move the door manually.

There is an electrical malfunction within the PSD system.

Refer to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Diagnostic System Check .

One of the following conditions exists:

    • The PSD unlatches but does not power open when you press the open/close switch. The PSD power opens if you move the door manually.
    • The PSD does not power open when you activate the handle. The PSD power opens when you move the door manually.
    • There is a malfunction in the detent switch circuit.
    • The door lock rod is out of adjustment.
    • An electric noise is present.
    • Adjust the door lock rods. Refer to Sliding Door Lock Rod Adjustment .
    • Repair the electric noise:
       - Verify that the pads and plungers are securely attached to the body and the door. Replace the pouch fastener, as needed.
       - Inspect for corrosion, water entry, and dirty or sticking plungers. Clean or replace the plungers as needed.
       - Inspect the ground circuits.
       - Inspect the detent switch. Replace the detent switch as needed. Refer to Rear Latch Detent Switch - Power Sliding Door.

If these steps do not correct the condition, refer to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Diagnostic System Check .

The PSD reverses or stops during a power opening.

    • There is a mechanical obstruction.
    • The cable tension is incorrect.
  1. Complete the following steps in order to clear the mechanical obstruction as needed:
  2. • Remove any foreign objects. Clean or replace the track, as needed.
    • Inspect the roller brackets for binding. Adjust the lower track. Use lithium grease in order to lubricate the lower track at the bend.
    • Inspect the roller brackets for wear. Replace the brackets as needed.
  3. Adjust the cable tension. Refer to Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Regular Method) for regular method or Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Alternate Method) for atlernate method in Doors.

If these steps do not correct the condition, refer to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Diagnostic System Check .

The sliding door does not remain open when the vehicle is on a hill (incline or decline).

    • The cable tension is incorrect.
    • The hold open system is faulty.
    • Adjust the cable tension. Refer to Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Regular Method) for regular method or Cable Tension Adjustment - Sliding Door (Alternate Method) for atlernate method in Doors.
    • Adjust, clean, or replace the hold open spring/retainer.

If these steps do not correct the condition, refer to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Diagnostic System Check .
