Power Door Locks Switch Unlock Function Inoperative - One Door Lock Switch

  1. Use a test lamp in order to probe between B+ and the inoperative door lock switch connector terminal D. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. Press the inoperative door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

--

Go to Step 3

Repair a poor connection or open in circuit 194. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 5

Replace the inoperative door lock switch. Refer to Door Trim Plate Replacement .

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors and components that were removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  4. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle).
  6. Turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the LOCK position, then back to the ACC position within 1 second. (The BCM sounds any DTCs stored).

Are there any BCM DTCs present?

Go to Step 6

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

  2. Press the inoperative door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?
