Is the RF window inoperative from both switches?

  1. Place the ignition switch into the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the RF window switch.
  3. Place the ignition switch into the RUN position.
  4. Using a test lamp, probe the RF window switch connector from terminals H and D. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  5. Press the LF window switch to the UP and DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both cases?

Is the RF window inoperative only from the LF switch?

--

Go to Step 13

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the RF window regulator motor.
  3. Check for a short to ground and continuity in circuits 666 and 667. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Are either of these conditions present?

  1. Disconnect the LF window switch.
  2. Using a DMM, check for continuity in circuits 166 and 167. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is an open condition present?

Repair the poor connection, open or short to ground in circuit 666 or 667. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Reconnect the RF window switch.
  2. Place the ignition switch into the RUN position.
  3. Using a test lamp, probe the RF window switch connector from terminals A and E. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  4. Press the RF window switch to the UP and DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both cases?

Replace the RF window regulator motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

Replace the RF window switch. Refer to Door Trim Plate Replacement .

Replace the LF window regulator motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the LF window switch.
  2. Disconnect the RF window switch.
  3. Check for a short to ground in circuits 166 and 167. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is a short to ground present?

  1. The window is inoperative from the RF switch only.
  2. Place the ignition switch into the RUN position.
  3. Using a test lamp, probe the RF window switch connector from terminal F to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
