Go to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) System Check

  1. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder lock.
  2. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  3. While observing the door locks, press the unlock button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  4. Observe the door locks for the following actions. The action depends on the auto door lock mode:
  5. • The driver door unlocks.
    • All of the doors unlock.

Does one of the above actions occur?

  1. Turn off the IP dimmer switch off.
  2. Turn on the interior lights override switch enabling the interior lights.
  3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  4. With the driver door open, press the lock on the door lock switch.
  5. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  6. Insert the key in the driver's door key cylinder lock.
  7. While observing the interior courtesy lights, turn the key and keep the key in place for 1 second in order to unlock the driver door.

Do the interior courtesy lights turn on for 40 seconds upon unlocking the door with the key?

Does the content theft deterrent system work as described in the Content Theft Deterrent System Check?

The content theft deterrent system is malfunctioning due to a malfunction between the BCM and the keyless entry system. Refer to Remote Keyless Entry System Check

The content theft deterrent system is malfunctioning due to a malfunction between the BCM and the door lock cylinder switches. Refer to Automatic Door Locks System Check

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Connect all of the connectors.
  3. Install all of the components.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  6. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
  7. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM flashes the fasten belts indicator and sounds the chime 4 times identifying the BCM type installed on the vehicle.)
  8. Within one second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the LOCK position, then back to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds any DTCs stored.)
