  1. Turn the IP dimmer switch off.
  2. Turn on the interior lights override switch enabling the interior lights.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. Lower the driver's window in order to prevent lockout.
  5. Close all the vehicle doors.
  6. While observing the interior courtesy lights, open then close the driver's door.

Did the interior courtesy lights turn on with the driver's door open and turn off with the driver's door closed?

  1. Turn the IP dimmer switch off.
  2. Close all the vehicle doors.
  3. Turn on the interior lights override switch in order to enable the interior lights.
  4. Turn the ignition switch from the RUN position to the LOCK position.
  5. While observing the interior courtesy lights, remove the key from the ignition key cylinder.

Did the interior courtesy lights turn on upon removing the key from the ignition key cylinder?

  1. Remove the key from the ignition key lock cylinder.
  2. Close all the vehicle doors.
  3. While observing the door locks, press lock then unlock on the driver door lock switch.
  4. While observing the door locks, press lock then unlock on the passenger door lock switch.

Do all the doors lock and unlock when using either door lock switch?

  1. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder lock.
  2. Close all the vehicle doors.
  3. While observing the door locks, press lock, then unlock on the keyless entry transmitter.

Do the door locks operate when using the keyless entry transmitter?

Inspect the sensitivity level of the shock sensor. Refer to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Circuit Description .

Is the shock sensor sensitivity OK?

  1. Disconnect the shock sensor electrical connector.
  2. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  3. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance between the following components:
  4. • The BCM harness connector C2 terminal D14
    • Ground

Is the resistance within the specified range?

Infinite

The content theft deterrent system is malfunctioning due to a malfunction between the BCM and the drivers door lock ajar switch. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems .

    • Inspect the BCM connectors for poor terminal contact. Make repairs as needed.
    • If the connections are OK, then replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .

Repair a short to ground in CKT 1828.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall any removed connectors or components.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM flashes the fasten belts indicator and sounds the chime four times identifying the BCM type installed on the vehicle.)
  7. Within one second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the LOCK position, then back to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds any DTCs stored.)

Are there any BCM DTCs present?
