Did you perform the seat belts diagnostic system check?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C2.
  3. Connect a 15 A fused jumper, at the BCM connector C2, from the seat belt indicator supply voltage circuit to B+.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the seat belt indicator stay ON continuously?

  1. Make sure that the driver seat belt is unbuckled.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the driver seat belt switch signal circuit and B+. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Leave the 15 A fused jumper connected .
  2. Connect a test lamp, at the instrument cluster connector C1, from the seat belt indicator control circuit of the BCM to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair an open or a high resistance in the seat belt indicator control circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Test for a poor connection at the instrument cluster connector C1. Refer to Circuit Testing and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  3. Important: Perform the set up procedure for the IP.

  1. Disconnect the driver seat belt switch connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance of the driver seat belt switch signal circuit.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

.5 ohms

  1. Test for a poor connection at the BCM connector C2. Refer to Circuit Testing and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Systems.

Using a test lamp probe between the ground circuit of the driver seat belt switch and B+. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Locate and repair an open or a high resistance in the ground circuit of the driver seat belt switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Reconnect all components.
  2. Verify that all components and connectors are properly mounted.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
