Do the rear fog lamps operate properly?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, turn the lamp on using the IP special functions, wow the instrument cluster.
  4. Observe the Rear Fog Lamp indicator on the instrument cluster (IPC) during this function.

Does the Rear Fog Lamp indicator illuminate when performing this function?

Using a test lamp check for a poor connection or open in the signal circuit of the rear fog lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Repair the poor connection or open in the signal circuit of the rear fog lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

Important: Perform the set up procedure for the IP.
