DEFINITION: The Instrument Panel lamps, the Heater-A/C Control lamps, the Rear Window Wiper/Washer and Multi-function Switch Lamps, the Window and Door Lock Switch lamps do not illuminate when the Park Lamps are turned on.

Did you perform the Lighting Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn the Headlights ON.
  2. Turn the IP dimmer switch to the full bright position.

Do the Instrument Panel lamps, the Heater-A/C Control lamps, the Rear Window Wiper/Washer and Multi-function Switch Lamps, the Window and Door Lock Switch lamps illuminate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Are any of the lamps illuminated?

Go to Step 4

Test for an open in the Incandescent dim signal circuit, or an open in the ground circuit to the inoperative component(s). Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. If an open circuit is not found, replace the inoperative component.

Go to Step 6

Test for an open or short to ground in the Incandescent dim signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. If an open circuit or short to ground is not found, replace the Headlamp and IP Lamp Dimmer Switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .
