DEFINITION: The rear fog lamps are on at all times, or the rear fog lamps are on at all times when the headlamps are on.

Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

1. Turn the headlamp and I/P lamp dimmer switch to the HEAD position.
2. Disconnect the rear fog lamp relay.

Are the rear fog lamps still on?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step  3

1. Disconnect the rear fog lamp module connector.
2. Connect a test lamp between the rear fog lamp module connector terminal E and B+.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 4

1. Connect the rear fog lamp module connector.
2. Connect a test lamp between the rear fog lamp relay connector terminals C1 and B1.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step  5

Go to Step  8

1. Disconnect the rear fog lamp module connector.
2. Connect a test lamp between the rear fog lamp relay connector terminals C1 and B1.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step  7

Go to Step  10

Test for and repair a short to voltage on CKT 122. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step  11

Test for and repair short to ground on CKT 1870. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step  11

Replace the rear fog lamp relay.

Has the replacement been made?

Go to Step  11

--

1. Test for and repair a short to ground on CKT 1977. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
2. If CKT 1977 is OK, replace the rear window wiper/washer and multifunction switch.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step  11

Replace the rear fog lamp relay.

Has the replacement been made?

Go to Step  11

--

1. Connect all connectors that were previously disconnected.
2. Verify that the rear fog lamps operate properly.

Do the rear fog lamps operate properly?

System OK
