Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the wipers to the full upright position and turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  4. Object Number: 507392  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the EGR valve electrical connector.
  6. Remove the Bolt retaining the pipe assembly from the EGR valve and carefully pull the pipe assembly back.
  7. Remove the EGR Valve retaining bolts.
  8. Remove EGR valve assembly.
  9. Remove the gasket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EGR Valve with a new gasket to the intake manifold.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Reinstall the Bolts through the EGR valve.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Connect the pipe assembly to the EGR valve.
  6. Reinstall the Bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  8. Connect the EGR valve electrical connector.

  10. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  11. Lower the wipers to the parked position.
