AN ALTERNATOR BELT UTILIZING NEW MATERIAL FOR THE 5.7L V-8 DIESEL IS NOW IN PRODUCTION. THIS NEW BELT PART NUMBER 22517019 IS AVAILABLE FROM GMWDD. THIS BELT WHEN INSTALLED PROPERLY WILL INCREASE DURABILITY AND SHOULD BE USED AS A SERVICE REPLACEMENT ON ALL V-8 DIESEL ENGINES WITH A STEP DRIVE ALTERNATOR. A STEP DRIVE BELT RUNS OVER WATER PUMP AND ALTERNATOR PULLEYS ONLY. THE EXISTING ALTERNATOR BELT PART NUMBER 22511773 IS NO LONGER APPLICABLE FOR V-8 DIESEL ENGINES, BUT CAN BE USED ON V-8 GAS ENGINES.
