DIESEL CRUISE MASTER SYSTEM HI ENGAGE INFORMATION

AUTOMOTIVE DIESEL ENGINES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A VACUUM PUMP AND REGULATOR TO SUPPLY VACUUM FOR THE CRUISE MASTER CRUISE SYSTEM. IF THE REGULATOR IS MISSING OR IS SUPPLYING MORE VACUUM THAN SPECIFIED (GREATER THAN 7 IN. HG), A SPEED SETTING 5-10 MILES PER HOUR HIGHER THAN DESIRED WILL OCCUR WHEN THE CRUISE ENGAGEMENT SWITCH IS DEPRESSED. IT IS, THEREFORE, IMPORTANT THAT THE REGULATOR IS INSTALLED AND FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. A TYPICAL INSTALLATION OF THE REGULATOR AND CRUISE TRANSDUCER IS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1.
