HARD START IN-STOCK VEH. 1982 J2000

Because of the possibility of insufficient fuel to cover the fuel tank pickup or a residue of corrosion protector inside the engine, some vehicles may not start when initially received. If this condition occurs, the following procedure should be used to resolve the condition.

VEHICLE CRANKS BUT DOESN'T START -------------------------------- 1. Install three (3) gallons of fuel in the tank.

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for a ten (10) second period to clear E.C.M. and reconnect.

3. Attempt to start vehicle.

IF VEHICLE DOES NOT START

1. Remove and clean spark plugs.

2. Disconnect electrical connectors at fuel injector and distributor 12 volt lead to stop fuel and spark while cranking.

3. Crank engine with spark plugs out for twenty (20) seconds.

4. Install cleaned spark plugs.

5. Reconnect fuel injector and distributor 12 volt lead.

6. Start engine.

7. Vehicle should be driven for ten miles to assure that any remaining corrosion inhibitor is completely removed.
