UPPER RADIATOR HOSE CLEARANCE MAY CONTACT SPARK PLUG SHIELD

UPPER RADIATOR HOSE CLEARANCE- 1982 J2000 EQUIPPED WITH 1.8L OHC-FI ENGINE (CODE O) WHEN PERFORMING REGULAR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR SERVICES IN THE AREA OF THE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE IT IS IMPORTANT THAT CLEARANCE BE MAINTAINED BETWEEN THE HOSE AND THE NUMBER ONE SPARK PLUG WIRE SHIELD. IF THE HOSE IS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY OR THE SHIELD BENT, A CONTACT CAN BE MADE BETWEEN THEM. THIS CONTACT, DUE TO THE ENGINE FORE AND AFT ROLL, COULD RESULT IN A CUT HOSE AND LOSS OF COOLANT: AFTER SERVICE OPERATIONS IN THIS AREA, INSPECT FOR CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE TWO PARTS. CLEARANCE SHOULD BE MAINTAINED AT 12.7MM(5") TO ASSURE CONTACT IS NOT MADE. THE UPPER EDGE OF THE SPARK PLUG SHIELD CAN BE TURNED DOWNWARD IF NECESSARY TO GAIN ADDITIONAL CLEARANCE.
