The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A dealer may encounter a vehicle with the customer concern of ses light on or DTCs P0300 P0171 or P0174.
No other driveability or performance concerns may be reported.
Recommendation/Instructions:
This concern may be caused by the fuel injector connectors being crossed or incorrectly installed.
For example, the number 6 fuel injector connector may be plugged into the number 8 fuel injector or visa versa.
Using the appropriate SI Fuel Injectors Schematic, verify that the fuel injector connectors are correctly installed on the proper fuel injectors.
If a fuel injector connector is found to be incorrectly installed, correctly install the fuel injector connectors using the appropriate SI Fuel Injector Schematic.
If the fuel injectors are found to be correctly installed, refer to the appropriate SI Document and diagnose the vehicle condition.
Important: Do not assume that the fuel injector connectors are properly installed on the correct fuel injectors regardless of mileage.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
