Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Arm the content theft system. Refer to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Description and Operation .

Does the security indicator LED illuminate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector containing the LED control circuit.
  3. With a fused jumper wire and appropriate terminal adapter, apply 12 volts to the security indicator control circuit.

Does the security indicator LED illuminate?

Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect the security indicator LED.
  2. Probe the ground side of the security indicator control circuit with a test lamp connected to B+.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 5

Test the security indicator LED control circuit for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the security indicator LED. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs.

Repair the open in the security indicator control ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
