Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 837081  Size: SH
  1. Insert a flat-bladed tool at the left end of the lamp lens. Press in and down to free the lamp lens clip.
  2. Pull down to remove the left lens.
  3. Use the same procedure to remove the right lens.

  4. Object Number: 856763  Size: SH
  5. Remove the overhead console screws.

  6. Object Number: 850160  Size: SH
  7. Grip the console at the rear and pull down to release the retainers (2).

  8. Object Number: 837092  Size: SH
  9. Slide the off/on switches (1) into the open slot and remove them.

  10. Object Number: 837109  Size: SH
  11. Insert a flat-bladed tool at the base of each lamp and press in to remove them.

  12. Object Number: 856764  Size: SH
  13. If equipped, remove the electrical connector from the sun roof switch (1).
  14. Remove the overhead console housing from the vehicle.
  15. For the removal of the console backplate remove the headliner as necessary. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
  16. Remove the wire harness from the clips in the backplate.
  17. Remove the backplate from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the backplate on the headliner of the vehicle.
  2. Install the wire harness into the clips on the backplate.
  3. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Position the overhead console housing by the headliner.

  6. If equipped, install the electrical connector to the sun roof switch (1).

  7. Object Number: 837102  Size: SH
  8. Install the lamps.

  9. Object Number: 837092  Size: SH
  10. Install the off/on switches (1).

  11. Object Number: 850160  Size: SH
  12. Press the console up to engage to rear retainers (2).
  13. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  14. Install the overhead console screws.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the overhead console screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  16. Press the right lens into the retaining rod and press up to engage the outer clip.
  17. Use the same procedure to install the left lamp lens.
