J 37096 Flywheel Holder

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 631009  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the torque converter cover bolts.
  3. Remove the torque converter covers.

  4. Object Number: 309963  Size: SH
  5. Install the J 37096 in order to gain access to the torque converter bolts and to prevent the flywheel from turning.

  6. Object Number: 160984  Size: SH
  7. Remove the flywheel to torque converter bolts.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the J 37096 in order to gain access to the torque converter bolts and to prevent the flywheel from turning.

  2. Object Number: 160984  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the flywheel to torque converter bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 63 N·m (47 lb ft).

  5. Install the torque converter covers.
  6. Install the torque converter cover bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in)

  8. Lower the vehicle.
