Removal Procedure
- Remove the I/P compartment latch. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Replacement .
- Insert the key into the I/P compartment door lock cylinder. Rotate the key clockwise.
- Insert a small diameter tool into the slot on the upper side of the door handle cylinder housing. Depress and hold the lock cylinder retainer while rotating the key further clockwise to the stop.
- Pull to remove the lock cylinder.
Installation Procedure
- Insert the key into the lock cylinder.
- Align the lock cylinder in the same position used for removal. Push the cylinder in place to seat fully.
- Turn the key counterclockwise to secure the lock cylinder retainer.
- Remove the key from the lock cylinder.
- Inspect the operation of the lock cylinder. The lock cylinder should only allow a ¼ turn and should be securely retained in the door handle.
- Install the I/P compartment latch. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Replacement .
