Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  2. Adjust the head-up display (HUD) UP, then DOWN.

Does the HUD display adjust properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the HUD connector.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire between the low reference circuit and ground.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the HUD display UP circuit and B+. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  5. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  6. Move the HUD up/down switch to the UP position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a test lamp between the HUD display down circuit and B+ at the instrument panel cluster (IPC) . Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. Move the HUD up/down switch to the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the HUD display up circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the HUD display down circuit for an open, a short to ground, or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the HUD display switch down circuit for an open or high resistance at the HUD switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the HUD display up circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the HUD display up circuit for an open or for a high resistance at the HUD switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
