Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2005 🢒 Grand Prix 🢒 Body 🢒 Doors 🢒 Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Raise the window far enough in order to gain access to the bolts (1, 2) that attach the window to the regulator.

    4. Object Number: 797973 Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolts (1,2) that attach the window to the regulator.
  5. Raise the window to the full up position and tape in place.

    6. Object Number: 800438 Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the power window motor by pulling out on the tab (1).
  7. Remove the front door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

    8. Object Number: 797970 Size: SH
  8. Remove the window regulator and motor through the access opening in the inner panel.
  9. Remove the power window motor bolts from the window regulator.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 797970 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the power window motor bolts to the window regulator.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  2. Install the window regulator and motor through the access opening.
  3. Install the front door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 800438 Size: SH
  4. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the power window motor by pushing in on the tab (1).

    5. Object Number: 797973 Size: SH
  5. Remove the masking tape.

    6. Lower the window far enough in order to gain access to the bolts (1, 2) that attach the window to the regulator.

  6. Install the bolts (1, 2) that attach the window to the regulator.

    7. Tighten
    Install the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Inspect the window for proper operation.
  8. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  9. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
