J 34730-1A Fuel Pressure Gage

Installation Procedure

Caution: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.

Caution: Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure connection in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury. The towel will absorb any fuel leakage that occurs during the connection of the fuel pressure gage. Place the towel in an approved container when the connection of the fuel pressure gage is complete.

  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  2. Remove the fuel rail pressure fitting cap.
  3. Connect the J 34730-1A to the fuel pressure valve. Wrap a shop towel around the fitting while connecting the gage in order to avoid any leakage.
  4. Place the bleed hose of the fuel pressure gage into an approved gasoline container.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the bleed hose on the J 34730-1A from the approved container.
  2. Remove the shop towel from around the fitting and discard into an approved container.
  3. Disconnect the J 34730-1A from the fuel pressure valve.
  4. Install the fuel pressure fitting cap.
