J 25070 Heat Gun

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 320055  Size: SH
  1. Use a J 25070 152 mm (6 in) from the surface to heat the molding.
  2. Apply the heat for approximately 30 seconds using a circular motion.

  3. Object Number: 320053  Size: SH

    Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing an emblem/name plate.

  4. Use a small, plastic, flat-bladed tool to remove the door finish panel from the door surface.

  5. Object Number: 320048  Size: SH
  6. Remove the door finish panel from the door.

  7. Object Number: 320045  Size: SH
  8. Beginning at one end, pull the center pins from the door finish panel support retainers.
  9. Remove the door finish panel support from the door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 320045  Size: SH
  1. Align the clips on the door finish panel support to the holes in the door.
  2. Press the clips into the holes until fully seated.


    Object Number: 320048  Size: SH
  3. Use Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha to clean the body panel.
  4. Use a heat lamp or J 25070 to warm the body panel to a minimum of 21°C (70°F), if necessary.

  5. Object Number: 320053  Size: SH
  6. Install the bottom flange of the door finish panel into the support.

  7. Object Number: 320055  Size: SH
  8. Install the locating pins into the door.
  9. Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing.

  10. Remove the backing from the door finish panel.
  11. Push the door finish panel inward to ensure maximum bond to the body.
