Set the automatic door lock operation to mode 3. Refer to Power Door Locks Circuit Description for procedure.

Is the action complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Make sure the transaxle is in PARK.
  3. Press the rear compartment release switch.

Does the rear compartment lid open?

  1. Make sure the transaxle is in PARK.
  2. Use a test light in order to probe between the BCM connector C2 terminal D6 and ground.

Is the test light on?

The automatic door lock feature is inoperative due to a malfunction in the PARK input circuit. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Release System Check in Body Rear End.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect the BCM connectors for poor terminal contact.
  2. If the BCM connectors are OK, then replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Repair the poor connection or open in circuit 275.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reinstall connectors/components removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  5. Remove the MALL PGM Fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle).
  7. Within one second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position to the OFF position then back to the ACC position. The BCM will sound any DTCs that are stored.
