Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 630905  Size: SH
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the hood air extractor nuts from the water management tray and discard the nuts.

  3. Object Number: 630904  Size: SH
  4. Remove the hood air extractor from the hood using a small plastic flat-bladed tool.

  5. Object Number: 321645  Size: SH
  6. Remove all adhesive from the body panel using 3M™ Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk 3M™ P/N 07501 or equivalent.

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the body panel using Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha.
  2. Using a small paint brush apply zinc-chromate primer to the spoiler stud inner and outer holes.
  3. Clean the hood attachment surface using with isopropyl alcohol and allow to flash off for 30 seconds.
  4. Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing.

  5. Remove the backing tape from the underside of the heat extractor
  6. Install the hood air extractor to the hood, pressing into place until the adhesive is fully seated

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the new nuts (mastic washers) to the studs on the hood air extractors.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the hood air extractor nuts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  10. Close the hood.
