Before removing the weatherstrip, attempt to repair the waterleak by adjusting or shimming the weatherstrip.

If the weatherstrip is removed the weatherstrip should be replaced.

1. Remove the weatherstrip from the vehicle.
2. If the weatherstrip was retained with adhesive or foam sealing tape, remove all traces of the old adhesive or foam sealing tape from the vehicle mating surfaces.

1. Using a nylon spatula as an aid if necessary, install the weatherstrip to the vehicle.
2. Finesse the weatherstrip at joints to ensure a proper fit. Use thumb grade sealer as necessary.
3. If adhesive was used, allow the adhesive to cure before rechecking for water leaks.
