Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2000 🢒 Grand Prix 🢒 Body and Accessories 🢒 Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console 🢒 Ashtray Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the front floor console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 639770 Size: SH
  3. Remove the ashtray from the bracket.

    4. Object Number: 639772 Size: SH
  4. Remove the lower ashtray bracket screws.
  5. Remove the upper ashtray bracket screws.

    6. Object Number: 639773 Size: SH
  6. Remove the ashtray bracket from the I/P.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ashtray bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 639773 Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the ashtray bracket.
  2. Install the ashtray bracket to the I/P.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 639771 Size: SH
  3. Install the upper ashtray bracket screws.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).


    Object Number: 639772 Size: SH
  4. Install the lower ashtray bracket screws.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the ashtray to the bracket.
  6. Install the front floor console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  7. Install the I/P cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
