Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Replacement VIN 1

1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.



3. Remove the screws.
4. Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector and the vacuum hose from the sensor.
5. Remove the MAP sensor.

1. Connect the electrical connector and the vacuum hose to the MAP sensor.
2. Position the MAP sensor to the bracket, and secure the sensor with the screws.
3. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
4. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .

Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Replacement VIN K

On VIN K applications, the MAP sensor is mounted to the PCV valve cover.

1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
3. Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector.



4. Carefully bend the locking tabs that hold the MAP (1) sensor to the PCV valve cover (2) just enough to remove the MAP sensor.
5. Pull the MAP sensor straight out from PCV valve cover.

1. Ensure that the seal is installed on the MAP sensor and that the seal is not damaged.
2. Position and install the MAP sensor (1) to the PCV valve cover (2). Ensure that the locking tabs engage in order to hold the MAP sensor to the PCV valve cover.
3. Connect the electrical connector.
4. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
5. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
