  1. Disconnect the inside air temperature sensor harness connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Place the heater-A/C control in the AUTO position.
  4. Use a digital multimeter (DMM) in order to measure the voltage between the inside air temperature sensor harness connector terminal A (circuit 734) and ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified range?

4-6 V

Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage between the inside air temperature sensor harness connector terminal A (circuit 734) and terminal B (circuit 61).

Is the measured voltage within the specified range?

4-6 V

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  2. Reconnect the inside air temperature sensor.
  3. Disconnect the Heater-A/C control harness connector.
  4. Use a test lamp, connected to B+, in order to probe the heater-A/C control harness connector terminal D 2.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the inside air temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Temperature Sensor Replacement .

Locate and repair an open in circuit 61 (YEL) between the inside air temperature sensor harness connector terminal B and S 258. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections And Wiring Repairs In Wiring systems.

Locate and repair an open in circuit 734 (DK GRN) between the heater-A/C control harness connector and the inside air temperature sensor connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections And Wiring Repairs In Wiring systems.

Replace the heater-A/C control. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement .
