Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the HVAC control module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the air inlet actuator. Refer to Air Inlet Actuator Replacement in Manual HVAC Systems.

  3. Object Number: 606987  Size: SH
  4. Remove the air inlet housing retaining screws (1).
  5. Remove the air inlet housing (2) from the HVAC control module.

  6. Object Number: 606989  Size: SH
  7. Remove the air inlet valve (1) from the air inlet housing (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 606989  Size: SH
  1. Install the air inlet valve (1) into the air inlet housing (2).

  2. Object Number: 606987  Size: SH
  3. Align the retaining tabs and install the air inlet housing (2) to the HVAC control module.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the air inlet housing screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the air inlet housing screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  7. Install the air inlet actuator. Refer to Air Inlet Actuator Replacement in Manual HVAC Systems.
  8. Install the HVAC control module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
