Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the left engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
  4. Use floor stands to support the transaxle.

  5. Object Number: 161232  Size: SH
  6. Remove the transaxle mount frame bracket to the transaxle mount lower nuts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement .
  7. Remove the transaxle mount frame bracket nuts.
  8. Remove the transaxle mount frame bracket bolts.
  9. Remove the transaxle mount frame bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the transaxle mount frame bracket to frame.

  2. Object Number: 161232  Size: SH
  3. Install the transaxle mount frame bracket bolts.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the transaxle mount frame bracket nuts on the bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle mount frame bracket bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  7. Install the transaxle mount frame bracket to the transaxle mount lower nuts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement .
  8. Remove the support from the transaxle.
  9. Install the left engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
  10. Install the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
