Inspect the drive belt for looseness.

Is the mark on the tensioner outside of the range, as indicated on the tensioner housing?

Go to Step 5

Check to see if the ribs in the drive belt match the grooves in the pulley.

Do the ribs in the drive belt match the grooves in the pulley?

Go to Step 3

Correct the pulley alignment

Inspect the drive belt for signs of cracks, glazing or deterioration.

Does the drive belt show signs of wear?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Inspect the drive belt for excessive oil or grease.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 5

Replace the drive belt.
