SUBJECT: INFORMATION AND IDENTIFICATION - SPECIAL TAIL LAMP LENSES/ASSEMBLIES

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1993 "W" MODEL

APPLICATION:

----------- 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix LE and SE Sedans from VIN breakpoint PF221244 to PF237945 and Coupes from VIN breakpoint PF221579 to PF239138.

CONDITION:

--------- Tail lamp lenses have been substituted on the above mentioned models. This lens change has created special tail lamp assemblies.

Tail lamp outer lens is different from regular production vehicles. Top portion of lens has a wider grid pattern. Lower portion of lens has a reflective pattern on it. The lower portion is clear on regular production vehicles. (See Figure 1).

CORRECTION:

---------- 1. If a vehicle requires a tail lamp assembly replacement, check to see if it has the special or regular production tail lamp assembly. (See Figure 1.)

Regular production assemblies: Sedans - P/N's 5976713-14 (LH and RH); Coupes - P/N's 5976205-6 (LH and RH).

Special production assemblies: Sedans - P/N's 5977307-8 (LH and RH); Coupes - P/N's 5977315-16 (LH and RH).

2. If a vehicle requires a lens replacement, check to see if it has the special or regular production tail lamp assembly. (See Figure 1.)

Regular production lenses: Coupes and Sedans - P/N's 16508927-28 (LH and RH).

Special production lenses: Coupes and Sedans - P/N's 16521417-18 (LH and RH).
