Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the transmission assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Transmission Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 104552  Size: SH
  4. Remove the torque convertor assembly from the transmission.
  5. Remove the torque convertor O-ring seal from the end of the turbine shaft. Use a screwdriver.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install a new torque convertor O-ring seal on the end of the turbine shaft.

  2. Object Number: 104552  Size: SH
  3. Install the torque convertor onto the transmission.
  4. Install the transmission into the vehicle. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. Adjust the transmission oil level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
  7. Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

  8. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions .
