Antenna Cable Replacement Pontiac

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the passenger doors.
  2. Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Adjust the carpet for access to the wiring harness as required.

  4. Object Number: 878166  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the antenna extension lead (1) from the main body harness coaxial cable (2).
  6. Open the rear trunk lid and pull back the rear compartment carpet to expose the antenna base.

  7. Object Number: 278034  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the antenna lead (2) from the antenna base (3).
  9. Cut off the visible end of the coaxial antenna cable from the wiring harness in the rear compartment area.
  10. Cut off the visible end of the coaxial antenna cable from the wiring harness in the front kick plate area.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the coaxial antenna cables into the vehicle.
  2. Use electrical tape in order to secure the antenna extension cable to the top of the wiring harness.
  3. Secure the cable to the harness at least every 150 mm (6 in).

  4. Connect the antenna extension lead (1) to the coaxial antenna cable (2).

  5. Object Number: 278034  Size: SH
  6. Connect the antenna lead (2) to the antenna base (3).
  7. Reposition the carpet in the rear compartment area and close the rear trunk lid.
  8. Reposition the carpet to cover the main body wiring harness and the coaxial cable.
  9. Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  10. Close the passenger doors.
