DEFINITION: The dome lamp is inoperative from the dome lamp switch only.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information

Place the dome lamp switch in the ON position.

Does the dome lamp illuminate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Do the courtesy lamps operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

1. Disconnect the dome lamp assembly.
2. Probe the ground circuit of the dome lamp with a test lamp that is connected to battery positive voltage.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the dome lamp. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Repair an open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the dome lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Replace the dome lamp assembly. Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
