Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  3. Read the current personalization setting for the automatic door lock mode.

Is the personalization setting correct?

Go to Step 3

Verify that the fault is present.

Does the system operate normally?

Verify that the power door locks operate correctly.

Close all the doors.

Do the courtesy lamps go out?

Test the door jamb switch signal circuits to the body control module (BCM) for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the defective door jamb switch. Refer to Rear Door Jamb Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
