Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2005 🢒 Grand Am 🢒 Body 🢒 Body Rear End 🢒 Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Have an assistant support the rear compartment lid during the procedure.

    3. Object Number: 736198 Size: SH
  3. With a grease pencil, mark the location of the torque rod (which hole in the hinge bracket).
  4. Lift up torque rod and pull rearward to release it from the hinge bracket.

    5. Rotate the rod down to relieve the torque and pull to remove the rod from its hole location.

  5. Slide the opposite end (anchor end) out of the other hinge bracket.
  6. Remove the torque rod from the rear compartment.
  7. Repeat this procedure for the second torque rod.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 736198 Size: SH
  1. Position the torque rod in the rear compartment.
  2. Slide the anchor end of the torque rod into the hinge.
  3. Slide the other end into the marked hole.
  4. Lift up on the torque rod push in until the rod is back to its original position.
  5. Repeat this procedure for the second torque rod.
  6. Close the rear compartment.
