Removal Procedure

Important: Always maintain cleanliness when servicing fuel system components.

Notice: Cap the fittings and plug the holes when servicing the fuel system in order to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering the open pipes and passages.

  1. Remove the fuel fill cap.
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .

  3. Object Number: 783460  Size: SH
  4. Remove the fuel filler pipe retainers from the fuel filler pipe access panel.
  5. Remove the fuel filler door pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement in Body Rear End.
  6. Remove the rear wheelhouse liner panel. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement in Body Rear End.
  7. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  8. Object Number: 783454  Size: SH
  9. Loosen the fuel filler hose clamps at the fuel tank and fuel fill tube.
  10. Remove the fuel filler hose.

  11. Object Number: 783458  Size: SH
  12. Remove the fuel filler pipe attaching screw from the under body.
  13. Remove the fuel filler pipe.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 783458  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel filler pipe.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the fuel filler pipe attaching screw to the under body.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filler pipe attaching screw to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the fuel filler hose.
  6. Position the fuel filler hose clamp at the fuel tank and fuel fill tube.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel tank filler hose clamps to 3 N·m (27  lb in).

  8. Install the rear wheelhouse liner panel. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement in Body Rear End.
  9. Install the fuel filler door pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement in Body Rear End.
  10. Lower the vehicle.

  11. Object Number: 783460  Size: SH
  12. Install the fuel filler pipe retainers to the fuel filler pipe access panel.
  13. Install the fuel filler cap.
