When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

Hesitation, stumble or stall with no DTCs. This usually happens when the customer is slowing to a stop, with a clutch apply for a manual transmission, or slowing down in an automatic transmission equipped vehicle.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If normal diagnostic procedures are unable to find a root cause for the condition, the Idle Air Control Valve could potentially cause this problem. Replace the IAC, part number 88984174. Also a revised calibration was released in May 2004 for this problem. Reflash the PCM with the latest calibration available.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
