Condition/Concern:
Since Goodwrench® Engine Part Number 12607031 is meant to fit multiple models with multiple transmission configurations, an engine installation instruction sheet is shipped with each engine to outline what has to be done to the engine before it is
installed. If this instruction sheet is lost, a copy of the latest instruction sheet is included below.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The latest instruction sheet for Goodwrench® Engine Part Number 12607031 states:
If using on a vehicle with a manual transmission, transfer the flywheel from the existing engine.
If using this engine on applications with the MN5 transmission option, the oil pan must be changed.
The fuel rail and injectors must be changed if using this engine on the following applications:
On all J-car applications, swap the oil pan from existing engine or use part number 12599237.
On 2002-2004 N cars with the MN4 transmission option, swap the oil pan from existing engine or use part number 12599237.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
