Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check for the door systems?

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine Off.
  3. Read the current personalization setting for the automatic door lock mode.

Is the personalization setting correct?

Go to Step 3

Verify that the fault is present.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Verify that the power door locks operate correctly.

Do the power door locks operate correctly?

Close all the doors.

Do the courtesy lamps go out?

Go to Step 9

Test the door jamb switch signal circuits to the BCM for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Replace the defective door jamb switch. Refer to Rear Door Jamb Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Monitor the transmission range switch (TR Sw) in the powertrain control module (PCM) transmission data display.

Does the TR Sw operate correctly.

Go to Step 9

  1. Replace the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
  2. Perform the set-up procedure for the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.
