Hazard Warning Switch Replacement Pontiac

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 331210  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the switch.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the switch.

  2. Object Number: 331210  Size: SH
  3. Connect the electrical connector.
  4. Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .

Hazard Warning Switch Replacement Oldsmobile

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the center air louver deflector. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Deflector Replacement .
  2. Remove the instrument panel cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 740356  Size: SH
  4. Remove the hazard warning switch bezel from the instrument panel using a small-flat bladed tool to release the retainers.

  5. Object Number: 737632  Size: SH
  6. Remove the left side bolt from the hazard warning switch through the instrument panel cluster pocket.

  7. Object Number: 741636  Size: SH
  8. Remove the right side and center lower bolts from the hazard warning switch through the center air louver deflector pocket.

  9. Object Number: 738395  Size: SH
  10. Reposition the hazard warning switch from the instrument panel to access the electrical connector.

  11. Object Number: 737627  Size: SH
  12. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the hazard warning switch.
  13. Remove the hazard warning switch from instrument panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the hazard warning switch.

  2. Object Number: 738395  Size: SH
  3. Position the hazard warning switch to the mounting points in the instrument panel.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the left side bolt to the hazard warning switch through the instrument panel cluster pocket.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the left side hazard warning switch bolt to 3 N·m(27 lb in).

  7. Install the right side and center lower bolts to the hazard warning switch through the center air louver deflector pocket.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the left side hazard warning switch bolt to 3 N·m(27 lb in).

  9. Install the hazard warning switch bezel to the instrument panel pressing into place until fully seated.
  10. Install the instrument panel cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

  11. Install the center air louver deflector. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Deflector Replacement .
