Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 15965  Size: SH
  1. Remove the RH engine splash shield (wheel house panel).
  2. Disconnect the hoses from the EVAP canister.
  3. Disconnect the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt (1).
  4. Remove the EVAP canister and the retainer.
  5. Remove the EVAP canister retainer from the EVAP canister.
  6. Remove the EVAP canister.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 14933  Size: SH

    Important: When installing the EVAP retainer to the EVAP canister, the attaching bolt must be towards the front of the vehicle and the hose ports must be towards the rear of the vehicle.

  1. Snap the EVAP canister retainer onto the EVAP canister (2).
  2. Reinstall the rearward end of the EVAP canister retainer into the slot in the PCM bracket (rotate the EVAP canister to insert the top of the EVAP canister under the tab on the PCM bracket).
  3. Install the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Connect the hoses to the canister.
  6. Reinstall the RH engine splash shield (wheel house panel).
