COLUMN SHIFT PAINT ABRASION NEW STEERING COLUMN COLLAR

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986-87 OLDSMOBILE CALAIS WITH COLUMN SHIFT

A new collar has been developed for the steering column on 1986-87 Calais models equipped with column shift. Refer to illustration. This collar is designed to prevent a paint abrasion condition that could occur on column shift cars. Should the condition of paint wearing off the shift bowl at the collar be encountered it can be repaired by installing a new collar, part number 22532016.
