FRONT SUSPENSION STRUT CARTRIDGE SERVICE

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1982-88 'N' AND 'J' CARS -----------------

On 1982-86 'J' cars, and 1985-86 'N' cars, the front suspension struts (original equipment) may be serviced by installing a cartridge following the procedure at the end of section 3C of the Chassis Service Manual.

Beginning with 1987 model year, the front suspension struts on 'N' and 'J' cars can no longer be serviced by installing a cartridge. If the strut requires service, the entire strut assembly must be replaced.
